FEATURE PERFORMANCE: ST. PAUL'S LUTHERAN CHURCH
WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 11 2019 @ 7:00pm
The Davis High School Madrigal Singers will be performing an evening of Renaissance Christmas carols at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Woodland. This is a free community wide event. The Davis High School Madrigal Singers will lead the evening's program with songs and Christmas carols from their vast repertoire. Then the audience is invited to join in the singing with a selection of traditional Christmas carols. The singing portion of the program ends with everyone singing the ever popular "Silent Night".
After the singing, the "Cookie Feast" follows the performance. You can meet the singers personally over fresh baked cookies, coffee, and the wassail bowl (punch). It's easy to spot them in the crowd. They will be wearing Renaissance period costumes. The Davis Madrigal Singers have become a holiday tradition for many families around town. On our 107th Anniversary, this will be the Madrigal's 47th year at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Take a break, plan to come and bring your friends. Admission is free. All good-will offerings go directly to support the Davis High School Madrigal Singers.
In July 2019, the choir toured the cities of Rome and Florence. The Davis Madrigals placed second in the annual Leonardo DaVinci International Choral Festival, plus Karen Gardias was awarded the Best Director. The choir was invited to sing in the Sistine Chapel and during mass in St Peter's Basilica at the invitation of the Vatican. All throughout the tour, the choir performed at several cathedrals and churches, including the Basilica di Sant'Andrea della Valle.
