Auditioning for the Davis Madrigals
Thank you for your interest in auditioning for the Davis Madrigals! Whether you love singing Renaissance music, enjoy performing in costume, or want to help bring joyful choral music to the community, we’re excited that you’re considering joining us.

Open Auditions Week
Auditions for the next season will be held February 2 - 6, 2026 from 4pm - 8pm in the Davis High School Choir Room (PA-8). During this time, you can stop by to sing and meet the directors.
Registration
Use this registration form to sign up for a time slot.

Come Prepared to Sing
Choose a song you feel comfortable with and shows your voice well. The piece doesn’t need to be memorized, but preparation helps you feel confident.

Skills Check
During the audition, you’ll be asked to demonstrate basic musical skills such as:

-
Pitch matching — repeating notes played or sung back accurately
-
Singing a short melody or phrase
-
Exploring your vocal range
These components help us understand your voice and place you where you’ll thrive. All skill levels are encouraged to try; the focus is on musical potential and a positive attitude.
Why Audition?
The Madrigals are a community-oriented ensemble that performs at a wide variety of local events and beloved gatherings like the annual Madrigal Dinner, a highlight of our season for more than 57 years. Auditions help us build an ensemble that blends well together musically while representing a range of voices and talents.
Questions?
If you have any questions about the audition process, what to prepare, or whether the Madrigals are a good fit for you, feel free to reach out to choir director Ms. Bach at nbach@djusd.net or stop by the Choir Room (PA-8).
